The Alabama athletics department has announced the hiring of two key members for their offensive staff. Nick Sheridan has been appointed as the Crimson Tide’s new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, while JaMarcus Shephard will serve as the assistant head coach, co-offensive coordinator, and wide receivers coach. Head coach Kalen DeBoer expressed his excitement about their additions, noting their experience in the offense and their reputation as excellent teachers and recruiters.
Sheridan, who previously played college football as a quarterback at Michigan, has coached alongside DeBoer at Indiana and Washington. This will be his second stint as an offensive coordinator, having previously led the Hoosiers offense when DeBoer departed for Fresno State.
“It’s a great honor to join Coach DeBoer at Alabama,” Sheridan commented. “I’m eager to collaborate with our offensive staff to craft weekly strategies that position our team for success. Alabama has an unparalleled legacy, and I recognize the importance of maintaining that standard while nurturing our players’ development.”
Shephard boasts an impressive track record in wide receiver development, having coached at Purdue and Washington under DeBoer. As a former collegiate receiver, he has mentored talents like Rondale Moore, David Bell, and upcoming top draft pick Rome Odunze.

With the addition of Sheridan and Shephard, the Alabama athletics department has now officially appointed five assistant coaches to DeBoer’s inaugural staff.
