Cifuentes states  29-year-old’s contract with QPR is a “win-win for all parties” – Backs him to be ‘huge player for QPR

At the beginning of this week, Queens Park Rangers finalized the signing of Lucas Andersen.

After his contract with Danish team AaB Fodbold was canceled, the Championship team was able to secure his services. The 29-year-old has rejoined Martí Cifuentes, his former boss at QPR, following this move.

When Tipsbladet interviewed the QPR manager, the new acquisition for the English team was the only topic of discussion.

Between 2021 and 2022, Cifuentes worked at AaB for more than a year before joining Hammarby. He was the manager of the former Denmark international while he was with the former.

It is claimed that when the prospect of moving the attacking midfielder to QPR was put forth, the Spaniard offered his “warmest recommendation.”

“I’ve always been a great admirer of Lucas, who has been a significant player in Danish football for many years,” he stated in response to the London club’s decision to sign Andersen.

“He was returning from a lengthy injury layoff when I arrived at AaB, but as soon as he was ready, he gave an outstanding performance.

We’ve always gotten along well both on and off the field, so I’m glad Lucas is back at Queens Park Rangers. In light of the circumstances that AaB find themselves in, I would think that it benefits all parties.
The Dane has lost 443 days of play since December 2020 as a result of two significant injuries. The head coach has given him the go-ahead to shine for QPR and outlined why it is unimportant to concentrate on his past injury history or current play for AaB.

“A player’s performance during the last three months shouldn’t be used to judge them. A lot also depends on how things are at the club, Cifuentes clarified.

“AaB is now competing in the second tier and is developing a brand-new project with an alternative style of play. I concentrate on Lucas because I am aware of his qualities. I’m confident that he can contribute significantly to our team if he performs at his best.

“He suffered some serious injuries early in his career, but he has now gone 18 months without an injury, and when healthy, he is among Danish football’s top players. I don’t think it makes sense to contrast Andersen, who is currently 29 years old, with the 17-year-old.

The manager of QPR is not shocked by Andersen’s affection for the Danish team, as he was a product of AaB’s youth and spent two stints with their senior squad.

“Lucas has an enormous affection for Aalborg and AaB, and I’m convinced that the city and the club will always talk well of him. He continued, “I’m confident he will still be a devoted fan of the team and support AaB’s return to the Superliga.
