In the podcast, Stroud expressed that people often underestimate “the dog” within him until they personally meet and engage with him. He clarified that his goal isn’t necessarily to instill fear in opponents but rather to make them aware that they need to bring their “A-game” when facing him on the field. Stroud emphasized his commitment to challenging opponents on every play and never taking a moment off during a game.
The former Ohio State star’s exceptional performance significantly contributed to the Texans’ franchise turnaround. Houston, which struggled with a 3-13-1 record in 2022, experienced a resurgence under Stroud’s leadership. The quarterback, widely considered a frontrunner for the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year, delivered an impressive season with 23 touchdowns, only five interceptions, and an NFL-leading 273.9 passing yards per game across 15 contests.
Statistically, Stroud ranked sixth in quarterback rating and third in net passing yards per attempt, according to Pro Football Reference. These outstanding achievements earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl in his rookie season.
