Sony song Entertainment reportedly paid $400 million (£301 million) for Pink Floyd’s song catalog. The Financial Times editors revealed on Tuesday that the British rock group had consented to sell the music juggernaut both their recorded music and rights to use their name and likeness. The outlet was informed by sources that the transaction only included recording rights; the writers’ individual songwriting rights were not included. They also said that Sony executives would be able to make money from merchandise sales and other upcoming endeavors, including possible TV series or movies, as they would own the band’s likeness.
