On the eve of his sister’s wedding, NHL player Johnny Gaudreau and his younger brother were struck by a suspected drunk driver while riding bicycles in their native New Jersey, authorities said on Friday. The Gaudreau brothers were riding on a road in Oldmans Township on Thursday night when, at approximately 8 p.m., less than 30 minutes after dusk, a man operating an SUV in the same direction tried to pass two other vehicles and struck them from behind, according to New Jersey State Police. At the scene, approximately 35 miles south of Philadelphia, they were declared deceased. Originally from Carneys Point, New Jersey, Gaudreau, 31, and his brother Matt, 29, were scheduled to be groomsmen in their sister Katie’s wedding.
