Regardless of whether Newcastle United are successful in finally moving on Miguel Almiron in January, the Magpies desperately need a new right-winger sooner rather than later.
Newcastle have been linked with several options for the right-wing position with Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford a firm favourite amongst fans, however, it’s widely accepted that a deal for Mbeumo will not be cheap.
Therefore, Newcastle are looking further afield just in case and now have their eyes on a young Belgian winger who has flirted with a move to the Premier League already.
Johan Bakayoko has attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, while Brentford had a bid rejected by PSV Eindhoven in the summer.
Johan Bakayoko is already a senior international for Belgium
The 21-year-old is performing well for PSV this season having bagged five goals and provided two assists in 15 games so far.
Bakayoko also already has 18 senior international caps for Belgium after having represented his country at every level from U15s to the senior side.
The Boot Room claims that Newcastle have been monitoring Bakayoko since the summer and could now move their interest on to the next level.
