Is Bills’ Josh Allen OK With ‘Explosive’ Change?
The 2024 version of the Buffalo Bills on offense is different from those that have gone before it. The biggest change has been Josh Allen putting the Superman cape away and allowing others to share the offensive burden. With the Bills starting the year 2-0, offensive coordinator Joe Brady’s scheme has been working to a tee, and with two wins coming in different ways, Buffalo is again looming as a tough prospect.
There has been a lack of explosive plays from Allen and Co. through the first two weeks, but no. 17 is content with letting James Cook run the ball to set up those downfield shots. “I think when we have opportunities, we’ll try to hit on those and try to execute as well as possible,” Allen said. “But at this moment right now, teams, over the course of the league, what defenses are doing [is] playing a lot of two high shell and running is in high demand for an offensive side of the football. It helps you do a lot of different things. So as we continue to run the ball effectively, we’ll have more opportunities to hit downfield.”
