Former Texas wide receiver Xaiver Worthy just finished the rookie season of a lifetime after playing in Super Bowl LIX with the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
On Friday, Worthy was arrested for assault in Georgetown, a part of Williamson County, which borders Austin’s Travis County. The exact charges are listed as “ASSAULT FAM/HOUSE MEM IMPEDE BREATH/CIRCULAT” and the wideout was booked on March 7; the exact time is not listed.
So far, no news has been released as to the exact allegations that Worthy was arrested for. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Texas Longhorns have yet to comment on the situation.
This isn’t a great look for the young wide receiver, and he will certainly face an even more highly focused microscope from the public now. It only took one season for Worthy to capture the hearts of Chiefs’ fans, but it doesn’t take long to lose the trust and faith of a fanbase.
