BREAKING NEWS: Chris Bosh discloses he was approached to participate in the EuroLeague.

Chris Bosh, the former big man for the Miami Heat, revealed a few days ago that he had previously had offers to play elsewhere. More precisely, the bids originated from teams in one of the world’s most talented international basketball leagues: the EuroLeague.

Among the notable teams that play in the EuroLeague are Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and AS Monaco.

Bosh may never have played in the EuroLeague, but on August 24, at the Stozice Arena in Slovenia, he took part in Goran Dragic’s farewell game, known as Night of the Dragon. For a brief period of time, Dragic and Bosh were colleagues with the Heat.

The 40-year-old spent 13 NBA seasons with the Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat. He spent the most of his time as the Raptors’ franchise player, which allowed him to record the best individual performances of his NBA career in Toronto.

Bosh had to give up a lot of his offensive production when he joined forces with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade on the Heat. He never finished a season with an average of more than 18.7 points per game while he played four seasons to support the famous combo. It is noteworthy to add that during his tenure with the Raptors, Bosh averaged 20.2 points per game.

Even though Bosh wasn’t Miami’s go-to scorer like he was in Toronto, the Heat teams he was a part of were among the best in his career, and if Bosh hadn’t been prepared to take on a smaller role, the team might not have won two titles and advanced to four NBA Finals.

With the Heat, Bosh won his championships in 2012 and 2013.

But injuries cut short the former Georgia Institute of Technology standout’s tenure with the Heat and the NBA. In his early 30s, he announced his retirement from the league owing to a blood clot disease.

Throughout 53 regular-season games, he averaged 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in his final NBA season, 2015–16.
