This Bruins forward is thought to be among the best UFAs available this summer.

The Boston Bruins are nearing the end of their current campaign. As one of the best teams in the league rankings, the Bruins have had an overall excellent regular season. They are currently getting ready for what should be an improved postseason campaign.

However, the Bruins may have a completely different roster for the upcoming campaign. A number of UFAs, including Matt Grzelcyk, James van Riemsdyk, Kevin Shattenkirk, Derek Forbort, and Danton Heinen, are still pending for the Original Six team. But Jake DeBrusk is their most notable pending UFA, and many now consider him to be one of the best players available.

DeBrusk is regarded as the 14th best player that could be available this summer by Lyle Richardson in his most recent NHL Free-Agency Big Board for the Bleacher Report.

When DeBrusk, 27, enters the market, there should be a lot of interest in him because he is undoubtedly a noteworthy pending UFA. He’s a top-six forward when he plays at his best. In addition, he still has a number of years left in his peak, which automatically increases his worth as a UFA.

DeBrusk has had some consistency issues this season, but overall in 2023–24, he has produced respectable offensive totals. He has 18 goals, 39 points, and a plus-7 rating in 74 games this season.

On DeBrusk’s future in Boston, the Bruins must make a significant choice. The Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, and Montreal Canadiens are among the teams that could bid for him if he becomes available to free agents.
