BREAKING: A new weapon is added to the wide receiver room of the Pittsburgh Steelers

According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac, the Pittsburgh Steelers have added a potent weapon to their wide receiver room in the form of former Los Angeles Rams wideout Van Jefferson.

The Rams selected 27-year-old Jefferson in the second round out of Florida, and he has played his entire four-year NFL career in Los Angeles with the exception of 12 games. During his 61 games played, 35 of which he started, he caught 113 passes for 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He played 12 weeks with Arthur Smith in Atlanta the previous season, hauling in 12 catches for 101 yards.

Following the trade of Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, the Steelers required an alternative. Regarded as a starting weapon and depth piece, Jefferson will be another weapon for Russell Wilson.

George Pickens, Calvin Austin, and now Jefferson make up Pittsburgh’s wide receiver room right now, but more names will probably be added through free agency and the NFL Draft.
