Newcastle United made a slow start to the season, winning just three of their opening nine Premier League matches.
However, the Magpies have hit a good run of form at a great time. They claimed a huge 1-0 victory over Arsenal at St James’ Park earlier this month, with Alexander Isak scoring the decisive goal.
Eddie Howe’s men followed that up with another superb performance against Nottingham Forest, comprehensively beating their league rivals 3-1 after second-half goals from Isak, Joelinton and Harvey Barnes.
Newcastle will look to continue their momentum when they return to action against West Ham United on Monday. But they will also keep an eye on the January transfer window, looking to add quality players and offload fringe players.
According to The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, Miguel Almiron is likely to leave the Tyneside club in January.
Argentine side River Plate are reportedly interested in hiring his services, but a transfer fee and wages are expected to be a stumbling block for a deal.
