Breaking: Another top key figure put to rest today….

One of Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love’s most electrifying weapons was forced to miss practice on Wednesday, ahead of the team’s preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday afternoon.

According to multiple reports, Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed missed practice Wednesday due to a calf injury.

It has been a difficult start to the summer for Reed, who has missed time early in training camp due to a toe injury. His ailments cast some doubt over whether he will play in Week 1 of the preseason.

Reed, 24, burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2024, finishing as the Packers’ leading receiver with 64 catches for 793 yards and eight touchdowns, while averaging 12.4 yards per reception, underscoring his big-play ability in Love’s arsenal.

If Reed misses any significant time, or even in his potential absence on Saturday against the Browns, the door is cracked open for Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton to see extended run alongside Love with the starting offense.

Melton was originally chosen in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, but saw significant playing time for the Packers last season, catching 16 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Wicks hauled in 39 passes for 581 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie and could wind up pushing Reed for the No. 3 receiver role behind Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson.
