NHRA Drag Racing 2024: John Force, 75, claims 157th career victory at New England Dragway, highlights, video, reaction

John Force is 75 years old but he’s still winning NHRA Funny Car races. He snagged the Wally just last week in Epping, New Hampshire.

Despite murmurs of retirement, Force, a 17-time world champion, has been an enduring figure in the sport for over 50 years.

He declared Friday that retirement is not on the horizon and he is merely preparing for the future.

“Everyone goes, you’re not going to Bristol. I went back and said did I lose my mind? What did I say” asked Force. “I’m 100 years old, I gotta leave here sometime. All I was saying is here’s the future of John Force Racing and I handed him the trophy.”

Force has designated young Austin Prock as his successor.

“I was speechless, I was in total shock,” said Prock. “I had no idea he was going to say that. We’ve been talking about this for a really long time but it’s not been public.”
