For a very long time, the Detroit Lions have been considered the league’s laughingstock.

Although several excellent players have passed through the ranks, they haven’t been able to translate that into real, noticeable outcomes for some reason.

The Lions held their head up because they knew their moment will come, despite their lack of success as a team.

This team’s culture has been entirely transformed by Dan Campbell, and they made franchise history by winning the NFC North in the previous campaign.

This was not only a positive development for the Lions, but it also suggests that they may be a formidable force in the near future.

Teams now know what the Lions are capable of, thanks to their 2023 success, which makes them a threat in the upcoming season.

At least Barry Sanders claims the Lions don’t appear to care.

Reporter Brad Galli reports that Sanders has made several appearances to the Lions training camp this summer and recently referred to them as “The hunted.”

This is quite the contrast from a team that was thought to be a reasonably easy opponent a few years ago.

Knowing they can defeat tough NFC opponents gives them the confidence to go forward, which should improve their mindset—especially if they make it to the playoffs, that is.

The three NFC North teams have improved, so the Lions’ path may not be as simple as it was a year ago.
