Isaiah Jones hinted subtly about his future at Middlesbrough in a recent interview.

Jones joined the Riverside team in 2019 after playing for Tooting and Mitcham United, two non-League teams.

The 24-year-old has made 120 appearances for the team in his nearly five years there, scoring 11 goals and providing 17 assists.

His contract expires the next year, so he won’t be short of attention in the summer after enjoying another successful campaign under Michael Carrick’s direction.

According to TeesideLive, there are ongoing discussions on a renewal, and these discussions have been characterized as “positive.”

However, if a new contract cannot be reached, Boro may need to sell him this summer as things currently stand.

Jones revealed a little something about his future at Middlesbrough in a recent interview.

Isaiah Jones drops hint on his Middlesbrough future

Carrick’s team depends heavily on Jones, thus the team will do all in its power to get him to sign a new deal.

Jones responded, “What I would say is that this is my home right now,” when asked about his future on Teeside. I savor every second of performing here, especially for these supporters. Even though I just have a year left, I don’t want to depart.

“I adore the fans and I have fun playing here. In the summer, we’ll review my contract situation and decide what to do. I mainly leave the talks with the club to my representation and concentrate on the football for the time being.

Although he seems very much intends to stay at Middlesbrough, he will obviously want the best offer for himself and his family, just like any professional.

Middlesbrough must keep Isaiah Jones

Morgan Rogers and Chuba Akpom, the team’s top scorer from the previous campaign, are two of the major departures Carrick has had to deal with in his 18 months at the team.

They can’t afford to lose another in the summer because that has undoubtedly had a significant impact on their chances of being promoted this year.

According to WhoScored, Jones is the third-best scorer on the team this season with six goals and the highest average match rating overall.

In addition, he averages the second-most dribbles each game, demonstrating his importance throughout the attacking phase.

Despite this, Boro must approve a sale in the summer in order to reinvest in the team since they cannot let the all-action winger’s contract expire without reaching an agreement on a new one.
