It appears Davonte Davis will face consequences for missing another radio appearance.

Arkansas basketball's Davonte Davis 'taking time away from basketball'

For the first time, it looks like the Arkansas Razorbacks guard may face repercussions for going missing.

Arkansas guard Davonte Davis, despite receiving favor from Razorbacks’ head coach Eric Musselman, swiftly returned to the lineup for nearly the entire game against Georgia after being absent for the previous three SEC contests. However, he faced criticism from 103.7 “The Buzz” after failing to appear for a scheduled interview on “The Zone” with Justin Acri and DJ Williams.

At the top of the 10 o’clock hour, Acri announced the anticipated interview with Davis, expressing excitement to hear his thoughts on the game. However, the interview was delayed, stretching past the scheduled time, and by 10:46, Davis was still unreachable. Acri informed listeners that they were still attempting to contact Davis and hoped to have him on air after the break. Unfortunately, the interview never materialized, leaving Acri to fill the time with sponsors and segueing into impromptu Super Bowl discussions with Williams.

Listeners raised questions about Davis’ absence during “Drive Time Sports” with Randy Rainwater, Rick Schaeffer, and Ray Tucker. Rainwater expressed frustration with Davis’ handling of his NIL obligation, emphasizing that commitments must be honored. He speculated that Davis’ no-show may result in financial repercussions, indicating that sponsors typically adhere to a “no show, no pay” policy.

Rainwater made it clear that the station would not excuse Davis’ absence and suggested that Davis’ sponsors might reconsider their support given his failure to fulfill commitments.
