It’s been three months now. Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari is starting to face tough judgements as the man wearing Amakhosi’s gloves.
WILLIAM SHONGWE CALLS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Shongwe, one of Kaizer Chiefs’ greatest-ever goalkeepers in history during the 1980s, believes that Ntwari has the right profile but needs to improve between the poles.
“Chiefs signed a good goalkeeper in Ntwari; he’s playing for his national team as well, but the only place where I can actually blame him is his attributes,” Shongwe told FARPost.
“His saving, decision-making and ball distribution are not quality. He lacks the quality of [Itumeleng] Khune, but I’m not comparing him with Khune,” the former Kaizer Chiefs number one continued.
“That’s where I can put a finger on him; for me, that’s something he should improve on. I think the coaches should plan and come up with a solution for this.
“If he improves on that, he may become one of the top keepers in this league. They can do better. I know the coaches are still new at the club; they are still learning, but the pressure is mounting,” Shongwe added.
FIACRE NTWARI INJURED
Kaizer Chiefs’ coaching staff are fearing the worst. Amakhosi goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari might spend time on the sidelines.
