Newsflash: Deep Purple share details of new album called…….

Deep Purple has announced the release of their 23rd studio album, titled *=1*, scheduled to drop on July 19 via ear MUSIC.

This marks the rock legends’ first full-length album of original material since 2020’s *Whoosh!* and their first since 2021’s covers album *Turning To Crime*.

The album follows a series of cryptic clues in European cities like London, Paris, and Berlin, hinting at new music through mysterious equations and multiverse imagery, which relate to the album’s title.

Produced again by the renowned Bob Ezrin, *=1* brings Deep Purple back to the classic sound that defined their legacy over 50 years ago, while avoiding nostalgia. The album’s title reflects the idea that, in an increasingly complex world, everything ultimately simplifies into one unified essence. The first single from the album will be released on April 30.

The tracklist for *=1* includes songs such as “Show Me,” “Sharp Shooter,” “Pictures of You,” and “No Money to Burn.”

The band’s lineup features frontman Ian Gillan, bassist Roger Glover, drummer Ian Paice, and keyboardist Don Airey.

The album will also be the first with guitarist Simon McBride, who joined the band following Steve Morse’s departure due to personal reasons.

McBride has already performed with Deep Purple at numerous live shows, reaching audiences of over half a million people.

In addition to the album release, Deep Purple has announced an arena tour across the UK later this year.

Fans can look forward to both the album and the upcoming tour as the band continues to bring their legendary sound to new and familiar audiences alike.
