BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle United think they have a very ‘unique’ 17-year-old in their ranks

In the era of PSR, Newcastle United need more stars to emerge from their academy.

That helped the Magpies this summer, with Elliot Anderson joining Nottingham Forest for £35million. That deal ensured Newcastle United complied with PSR, amid a period of financial turmoil at St James’ Park.

But Newcastle do not need more academy talents emerging so that they can sell then off. The goal will be for these young players to develop into senior stars and negate the need for mega money signings.

That will be up to Paul Mitchell, who will be tasked with bringing young players to the club. Vakhtang Salia is set to join Newcastle from Dinamo Tbilisi, and Toon officials will hope that the 17-year-old attacker achieves his potential on Tyneside.

There are also youngsters already at the club who will have first-team ambitions, with the most exciting being Trevan Sanusi.
