Bad Description: Magnussen describes Verstappen talent in unusual way……

Kevin Magnussen has described Max Verstappen as a “robot”, with the Danish driver having explained what makes the Dutchman so special.

Last year, Verstappen claimed a fourth consecutive F1 drivers’ title, putting him level with Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost.

The 27-year-old started 2024 emphatically, winning seven of the opening 10 rounds. However, he then experienced a 10-race winless streak – his worst since 2020.

This was caused by the rise of McLaren and Red Bull encountering serious issues with the RB20. Despite obvious problems with the car, Verstappen continued to score consistent big points.

He was able to battle towards the front against superior cars, extracting every ounce of performance from the troublesome RB20.

It is Verstappen’s ability to consistently be at his best in every lap of every session which, in Magnussen’s eyes, puts the Red Bull driver in the greatest of all time discussion.

“To me, he must be getting near the all time great [status],” Magnussen exclusively told RacingNews365.

“I think if you look at his level, I think his top level is maybe not that much better than anyone like Lewis [Hamilton] or, anyone.

“I think they can reach that sort of level too, I think quite a lot of people can. But he does it every lap of every single race weekend he does.

“That is the crazy thing about him, how he’s just always on it, he has his best day every day. So it’s kind of that what sets him apart.”

Specifically, it is Verstappen’s ability to be faultless throughout an entire session which Magnussen compares to being like a machine.

“Pretty much, he’s just like a robot,” said Magnussen.
