Suspended South Carolina basketball star Ashlyn Watkins has had kidnapping and assault charges against her dismissed and been reinstated to the team.
Watkins was charged on August 31, after being arrested in relation to an alleged assault that occurred at a student housing center at the University of South Carolina.

The forward, who won a national championship with the Gamecocks earlier this year, was accused of ‘forcefully grabbing [the victim] her face, pulling her arms and pushing,’ according to WLTX-TV.
The forward also picked the victim up against her will and carried her, the warrant filed by USC Police read.
It added that Watkins ‘grabbed the victim’s head and forced her to walk down the hall, thus controlling her movement while preventing her from leaving.’ This allegation led to the added charge of kidnapping.
