Breaking News: Ex-NFL general manager urges Pittsburgh Steelers to sign former All-Pro wide receiver…..

With George Pickens likely out for another game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers still have a lot to figure out at the wide receiver position. Those struggles have permeated the offense as a whole, which has struggled mightily without Pickens’ presence.

Without him, the Steelers are plodding along as an offense, struggling to run the ball, and living off the limited explosive plays they can get without the magnetism that Pickens provides.

Former NFL general manager Doug Whaley believes the solution could be signing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was just released by the Miami Dolphins.

Why not? Here’s the only reason I would say it. And it would be more for off the field than on the field. Meaning he gives you something on the field, but he could come in and get in George Pickens’ ear and be like, ‘Hey, listen, here’s what, what’s your goal? Here’s how you need to go about it,” Whaley said.

The Steelers have passed on multiple potential additions late in the season, however. They passed on K.J. Osborn and did not even put in a claim for the wide receiver. There is no guarantee that they will add Beckham either, but someone with his pedigree and skillset is something that the Steelers do not have in this room, with or without Pickens in the room.
