We should've scored more goals – Philippe Clement frustrated after Rangers draw | beIN SPORTS

Clement reminded everyone he hasn’t played the same team in successive games since taking over from Michael Beale.

If you want to win things, then the schedule is a hectic one as Rangers are finding out after claiming the first silverware of the season.

A 1-0 win over Aberdeen at Hampden in the Viaplay Cup Final was celebrated, but not too hard with St Johnstone the visitors to Ibrox on Wednesday night. Philippe Clement can crank up the pressure on Celtic with a win, which wold see Gers move to within striking distance of their rivals at the top of the Premiership table.

It’s the third big game in a week for the Light Blues, having recorded a stunning win over Real Betis in Seville last Thursday to book their spot in the last 16 of the Europa League last Thursday, before getting the job done against the Dons at Mount Florida on Sunday. Now Craig Levein’s team provide another quickfire test on a return to league business.

Clement pointed out during his pre-match press conference that he hasn’t named the same team in successive games since taking the reins at Ibrox. That is likely to continue against the Saints, with his side away to Motherwell this weekend before a trip to the Highlands to play Ross County on December 27.

Jose Cifuentes could return before the winter break, although it’s unlikely Ryan Jack will feature prior to then. Cifuentes would have been suspended for tonight anyway, with Cyriel Dessers expected to lead the line in Danilo’s continued absence.

Changes may come elsewhere though. Ross McCausland won’t be overloaded after a number of starts recently and Ridvan Yilmaz could get a run out at left back. Record Sport looks a the Gers predicted line up.
