Tasmania’s JackJumpers have told player Marcus Lee they won’t be renewing his contract beyond the NBL24 season.

The 6.9ft American joined the team after a stint with Melbourne United in 2023, having previously played in Italy, Turkey, Puerto Rico and Spain.

“Marcus has been a great person to have at the club and quickly became very well liked both everyone within the club and obviously by the fans,” Head Coach Scott Roth said.

“He brought a great energy to the group and was obviously a great presence on the floor for us.”

Lee played in 34 games for the JackJumpers during his only season and started in 32.

He was sidelined in the last two games of NBL Championship series due to a knee injury.

“Marcus was a fantastic contributor to our club this season, we’ve loved having both him and Amber in Tasmania and thank them for everything they’ve done for the club,” club CEO Christine Finnegan said.

“We wish Marcus and Amber the very best for their future.”
