In order to join forces with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns moved heaven and earth to recruit a third superstar during the summer. Despite Bradley Beal’s best efforts, the three-time All-Star hasn’t played much for Phoenix since the big deal in June.

Due to a back injury, Beal has only appeared in three games while wearing the Suns uniform. He has also missed Phoenix’s last 12 games. However, the 30-year-old is prepared to rejoin the Phoenix starting lineup when the Suns play the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. The NBA community is eager to witness how Phoenix’s all-star three finally clicks on the floor.

Beal: My back issue wasn’t as bad as they said.

Beal was questioned by media on Monday on the back flare-up that has kept him out of 19 of the 22 games this season. Most people first believed it to be a straightforward strain, but Beal revealed on Monday that the injury was far more serious and intricate than that.

What problem areas will Bradley Beal's return for the Suns fix?

Beal’s back issues initially surfaced during the Suns’ training camp. Despite playing three straight games in November after returning from the sidelines, he soon found himself back on the treatment table. It was discovered that the former Washington Wizards player had a disc issue in his back, which was causing nerve discomfort that was radiating down his legs.

A Big Three reunited

Beal informed reporters that despite the fact that his injury was difficult and required weeks to heal, at first he wanted to play through the agony. This was Beal’s degree of enthusiasm about playing for a team that was a title contender and with Booker and Durant, two of the top players in the NBA.

But finally, Beal was persuaded to shut it down and concentrate on his recuperation while he put himself in a position to be able to contribute by the influence of Booker and Durant.

With a 12-10 record, the Suns are in a dismal seventh place in the Western Conference after losing four of their last five games. While Durant has been outstanding (averaging 31 points per game), Beal and Booker have both missed extended periods of time due to sprained ankles. As Phoenix attempts to contend for one of the top spots in the West, all eyes will be on the trio, who has yet to play a single game together.
