Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After enduring three separate lightning delays totaling five hours and 22 minutes, the opening game of the three-game series between Arkansas Tech and Oklahoma Baptist has been suspended and will resume on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

At the time of the final lightning delay and subsequent suspension, the Golden Suns were in the midst of a seventh-inning rally that had seen them score three runs on five hits while also having the potential tying run at second base and the potential winning run at first base.

When play does resume, the Golden Suns will be down to their final out and facing an 0-2 count.

Friday’s initial delay started early in the contest, occurring at 2:08 p.m. and in the bottom of the first with Oklahoma Baptist leading 1-0 thanks to a run in the top of the inning. That delay proved to be the longest as play did not resume again until 6:19 p.m.

The Bison would score twice more in the top of the third once play resumed to take a 3-0 lead. The second delay then started at 7:20 p.m. and lasted 38 minutes.

Oklahoma Baptist would pick up a vital insurance run in the top of the seventh before the Golden Suns went on their comeback effort in the bottom of the inning.
