Over the weekend, Steve Wiltfong, national recruiting director of 247Sports, made a “crystal ball prediction” that the Tennessee Vols will sign an in-state prospect in 2024.

This past weekend, 6-foot-170-pound Nashville native and three-star cornerback Jaren Sensabaugh, who previously played high school football in Knoxville, paid a formal visit to Tennessee. Sensabaugh, who once declared his commitment to Vanderbilt, told 247Sports that everything went quite well during the visit.

Sensabaugh told 247Sports, “UT has by far been the most anticipated and exciting visits I have taken all year.”

It was Sensabaugh’s visit and his remarks about it that prompted Wiltfong to anticipate Tennessee would sign the gifted local cornerback.

Sensabaugh is ranked as the No. 36 player in Tennessee and the No. 92 cornerback in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. In addition to his previous trips to UCLA and NC State, he will be visiting Missouri the following weekend in advance of the early signing period.

The three-star prospect is the son of Gerald Sensabaugh, a former safety in the NFL who was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, and transferred to North Carolina from East Tennessee State. Additionally, he is the cousin of Clemson football player and former NFL cornerback Coty Sensabaugh.

Due to what his father referred to as “bad film,” Sensabaugh has been a sluggish mover in the recruiting rankings, despite the fact that the two have worked hard to address this.

“Jaren’s IQ in the game is quite high. At that age, he knew a lot of things I didn’t,” Gerald told Main Street Media earlier this year. To give him a head start, it was one of the things I attempted to educate him. You don’t need to be as large or quick if you know what you’re doing.

“I said, ‘Your movie is awful.'” You didn’t play enough last year; you only participated in five games. Gerald said, “If I were a huge school, I wouldn’t get you either. “We spent the entire summer trying to fix his film and remove all of the ambiguities. He subsequently proceeded to do performances at camps.

Right now, Tennessee boasts the nation’s top-14 recruiting class for 2024.
