Player Gary O’Neil loves has been missed  as much as Pedro Neto.

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil makes 'tough' Aston Villa admission - Birmingham Live

Although Wolves won four points in the Premier League last week, some people believe they could have won more.

The Wanderers played two matches at Molineux, first against Nottingham Forest and then Burnley.

Another strike from Hwang Hee-chan gave Wolves the advantage against Burnley, as they won 1-0 at home.

However, following a subpar showing against Forest on Saturday, points were lost.

While four points isn’t too awful, some believe that there was a great chance for six, and both teams’ performances were very subpar.

Of course, Pedro Neto is a huge loss for Wolves, but another player’s absence has been felt more lately.

Wolves are missing Rayan Ait-Nouri just as much as Pedro Neto

Rayan Ait-Nouri transfer latest: Chelsea register interest as Wolves reveal staggering price tag

Wolves were without Rayan Ait-Nouri for the third straight game on Saturday against Forest. Ait-Nouri sustained an injury early in Wolves’ 3-2 loss to Fulham at the end of November.

Ait-Nouri turned to face the Cottagers, trying to roll his ankle. He attempted to continue playing, but soon after becoming hurt, he had to be removed.

The good news is that Wolves has missed him and his absence shouldn’t last too long.

In a nutshell, Ait-Nouri has been among the greatest players wearing a Wolves shirt this season. After being shut out by former manager Julen Lopetegui, the Algerian international has returned to the starting lineup and has been a fantastic outlet for Wolves on that left side.

The £10 million star has excelled since O’Neil began deploying wing-backs, a position Ait-Nouri has acknowledged he loves.

Since taking Ait-Nouri’s place, Hugo Bueno has, to be honest, struggled a little.

Although Bueno is a highly promising young player, he has just recently recovered from an injury and currently seems to be lagging behind.

He was swashbuckling the previous season. Nelson Semedo has been moving forward on the opposite side far more frequently this year, and he has played much more cautiously.

Former Molineux midfielder Dave Edwards said recently that Ait-Nouri had become a ‘massive force’ for Wolves on that left side, and his absence can definitely be felt at the moment.
