QPR head into this weekend’s fixture against Hull City looking to add to the four points picked up from two home games under Martí Cifuentes.

The R’s head coach has always said the form in W12 is vital, and he reiterated that as he prepared for the visit of the high-flying Tigers.

“It is very important for me to be strong at home,” he said. “It’s important that we build an identity and continue to build that atmosphere with the fans and the players at home, and get the results that we want.

“Strong home form will only contribute to increased success and play a key part in us moving up the table.”

Rangers picked up back-to-back wins with victories over Stoke City and Preston before an eight-day break in fixtures, and Cifuentes said: “It was a hectic week last week with a lot of games and a lot of travelling so to have a week on the training field was very beneficial to get to work and to try and work on things to get better.

“The attitude has been fantastic, the willingness to want to learn and adapt has been wonderful and one of the reasons I came to this club is because I saw what this side has, and they are open to the ways I want to play.”

Cifuentes has amassed eight points from his first five fixtures – a feat only achieved once in the previous 14 months – but he knows there is plenty of work still to do.

“We need to be humble,” he said, ahead of playing Liam Rosenior’s sixth-placed side.

“The two wins we got last week were very good but they won’t help us this weekend.

“Hopefully we will get a victory on Saturday but Hull are a very good side, they have individually a lot of good players, a good coach who plays in a very progressive way and the position they have in the table is deserved.

“They are probably one of the best teams I have come up against so far.

“Don’t misunderstand me, I have full trust in my guys and we can compete at the highest level but to get the wins we have to continue to compete at the highest level in every aspect.

“If you do that all the time, you will win a lot of football games and that is something we will be looking to do again this weekend.

“From a tactical sense, it will be very interesting. Hull do some unique things which will certainly raise some questions for us but ones I am really looking forward to.”

Cifuentes confirmed striker Sinclair Armstrong is available after training fully this week, while Jack Colback will be assessed after being forced off at half-time against Preston.

Morgan Fox, Albert Adomah and Rayan Kolli are continuing to work their way back to fitness.
