The Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks face off in a game that’s pivotal for both team’s playoff hopes – but for entirely different reasons.

The New York Knicks have three players listed on their injury report: OG Anunoby, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson. OG Anunoby is out due to right elbow management; Knicks fans were hoping to have Anunoby return to the lineup soon. Julius Randle is out due to a dislocated right shoulder. Mitchell Robinson is out due to left ankle surgery. Jalen Brunson is listed as available against the Golden State Warriors.

For the Warriors, a win tonight would put them only 2.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Sacramento Kings for the 6th, 7th, and 8th seed. A loss tonight though would put them half a game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the 10th seed. Every single win and loss is a massive game-changer in terms of being in or out of the play-in tournament.

For the Knicks, a win would put them only 1.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 3rd seed. A loss would put them tied with the Orlando Magic for the 5th seed. While the Knicks aren’t in as much of a do-or-die situation, they clearly need a win to secure a comfortable playoff spot.
