The Premier League match between Everton and Nottingham Forest was stopped in the injury time after a violent head-on collision between Beto and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Both players received treatment on the field during the more than four-minute delay in the game.

After that, Gibbs-White got up and seemed to leave the field to get more medical attention.

However, Beto appeared to remain on the ground for a considerable amount of time after the impact before being carried off the field on a stretcher.

The 26-year-old, who was spotted taking oxygen, gave the Everton supporters inside Goodison Park a thumbs up as he was being carried off the field despite the alarming scenes. Gibbs-White, on the other hand, stayed on the field.

Youseff Chermiti came on to replace the Everton forward, with the Toffees having taken a two-goal lead in the match thanks to Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil’s long-range strikes.

‘The early signs were very good, very positive. He had come around and was speaking to the physios and the medical team so that’s good news at this early stage,’ Sean Dyche confirmed after the match.

‘Yeah theres things in life that are bigger than football. We all hope Beto’s OK,’ James Tarkowski added after the match.

Play recommenced after the delay, with Everton going on to seal a 2-0 victory against Forest.
