Kerry's Mark O'Connor reportedly set for new two-year contract in AFL with Geelong

Kerry and I playing together is something I’ve always considered. It’s just difficult to predict when, and there are now too many things to do here (in AFL). “I’m giving this my whole attention right now.”

Mark O’Connor, a two-time All-Ireland minor winner with Kerry, is determined to stick with the Geelong Cats in the AFL but hopes to play senior football for Kerry in the future.

Mark O’Connor just signed a two-year contract extension with the Geelong Cats that would keep him there until 2026, but he has reaffirmed his commitment to going back to his birthplace of Kerry and trying to win an All-Ireland championship with his native homeland.

The dynamic Dingle clubman, who won two minor All-Irelands with the Kingdom in 2014 and 2015, joined the Melbourne team in October 2016 as a Category B rookie. He made his AFL debut in 2017 and has since accumulated 114 games and eight goals.
