Alyn Breed, a member of the Providence College men’s basketball team, is facing charges in connection with an off-campus domestic dispute, including “numerous firearm offenses,” after being arrested Saturday, according to Col. Oscar Perez, the chief of the Providence Police.

Police said in a news release that they were called to the PC campus by college security regarding an incident that took place off campus early Saturday morning. In addition to the firearms charges, Breed, 22, was charged with unlawful entry of a home, robbery, vandalism and taking someone’s car without permission, all in connection with the incident.

Breed has been suspended from the team, the school announced in a news release Saturday.

“As a result of these charges, Athletic Director Steve Napolillo and Head Coach Kim English have determined that Breed is suspended from the men’s basketball team and will not be allowed to participate in any other athletic department-related activities,” the statement read. “The College will follow its student-conduct disciplinary process regarding this matter.”
