The Boston Red Sox enter Wednesday with a chance to sweep the Oakland Athletics with Nick Pivetta on the bump.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora made a few changes to the lineup for the matchup, with Masataka Yoshida returning to the lineup and Tyler O’Neill sitting.

Here’s what the full lineup looks like:

  1. LF Jarren Durran
  2. 3B Rafael Devers
  3. SS Trevor Story
  4. 1B Triston Casas
  5. DH Masataka Yoshida
  6. CF Ceddanne Rafaela
  7. 2B Enmanuel Valdez
  8. C Reese McGuire
  9. RF Wilyer Abreu

Pivetta looked strong against the Seattle Mariners in his first start, throwing six innings of three-hit, one-run ball. Only Seth Brown (1-for-13 with a home run), Shea Langeliers (1-for-4) and J.D. Davis (2-for-3) have hits against him.

Oakland will trot out Ross Stripling for the finale, who gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings against the Cleveland Guardians. Story is 5-for-14 with two home runs, Durran is 2-for-3 with a home run and Devers is 8-for-22 against him.

If the Red Sox can earn a win in Game 3, they could be tied with the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East roughly a week into the season.
