Bulldogs second-rower Jacob Preston is facing a six-week absence due to a jaw fracture sustained during the Round 4 match against the Rabbitohs. The injury occurred when Preston collided heads with Rabbitohs prop Shaquai Mitchell while attempting a tackle early in the second half. Despite leaving the field for a head injury assessment, Preston returned to play for the rest of the game.

In addition to Preston’s injury, Bulldogs winger Josh Addo-Carr will miss Round 5 after failing a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) following the same game. Mitchell also failed an HIA and is unlikely to play in the Rabbitohs’ next match against the Warriors. Furthermore, Rabbitohs’ Alex Johnston suffered a hamstring injury during the game and did not complete the match.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are anticipating an extended absence for five-eighth Luke Metcalf, who was hospitalized for scans on a possible ankle fracture following their match on Sunday. Raiders forward Zac Hosking was ruled out of the game against the Sharks after failing a head injury assessment in the second half. This followed forward Elliott Whitehead’s withdrawal from the game due to a calf injury.

The Knights were missing Dane Gagai during their trip to Auckland due to a “medical condition,” as stated by the club.

Eels coach Brad Arthur confirmed on Sunday that Mitch Moses had undergone surgery for a fractured foot and is expected to be sidelined for “8-10 weeks.” Arthur expressed optimism about Moses’s recovery, noting his determination to return ahead of schedule.

Bryce Cartwright, a back-rower for the Knights, also sat out the Easter Monday match against the Wests Tigers due to a rib injury, which he sustained during contact training late in the week.

Lindsay Collins, a representative prop for the Roosters, missed the Thursday night game against the premiers due to a hamstring injury he sustained the previous week. He is undergoing rehabilitation alongside Sandon Smith (elbow) and Billy Smith (ankle).

Panthers star Nathan Cleary is aiming to return in Round 7 from a hamstring injury he suffered in Round 3, while Scott Sorensen will be sidelined for a few weeks due to an MCL injury.

The Sharks will be without prop Royce Hunt for a month due to a calf injury, while Dale Finucane (facial injury) and Toby Rudolf (ankle) are expected to be out until at least Round 6.

The Broncos are facing the absence of Reece Walsh for 4-6 weeks due to a facial fracture, along with back-rower Brendan Piakura, who sprained his ankle during training on Tuesday and will be out for a month.

Following the Storm’s Round 4 bye, Cameron Munster (groin), Joe Chan (hand infection), Reimis Smith (rib), Christian Welch (concussion), and Nelson Asofa-Solomona (hamstring) are all expected to be available for selection, while Sua Fa’alogo (ankle) is likely to be available in Round 6.
