Michigan Wolverines’ newly appointed defensive line coach, Greg Scruggs, faces an indefinite suspension after being arrested for driving under the influence, reported the Detroit Free Press. Scruggs, 33, joined head coach Sherrone Moore’s staff just ten days before the incident occurred on March 16.

Confirming the arrest, Ann Arbor Police Department’s strategic communications manager, Chris Page, disclosed that Scruggs was apprehended around 3 a.m. The football program, upon learning of the situation, promptly suspended Scruggs, expressing intentions to delve deeper into the matter.

Expressing regret over Scruggs’ actions, Moore emphasized accountability, stating, “Greg made an unfortunate mistake and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.” Scruggs, who had a previous encounter with the law in 2011 during his time as a senior defensive tackle at the University of Louisville, had his football career disrupted after a similar incident led to his dismissal from the team before a crucial game.
