Ahead of Luton, Oliver Glasner updates Crystal Palace’s injury report: Attacker ruled out
Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, has announced that Matheus Franca will miss tomorrow’s Premier League match due to a groyne injury.
In Glasner’s first two games in charge, the Brazilian attacker has appeared off the bench. In the 3-0 victory over Burnley, he assisted and won a penalty.
Due to a quad injury, Jeffrey Schlupp has not been seen since the 4-1 loss against Brighton.
“We will miss Franca tomorrow – he has a groyne problem,” Glasner stated. However, Jeffrey Schlupp participated in today’s training session.
“He’s not in the squad for tomorrow, but we don’t play for three weeks, so I expect him to be back in the squad after the national team break.
“So this gives us more options. It is always good as a manager to have the players on the pitch [rather] than in the gym.”
Eberechi Eze made his first start under Glasner in the 3-1 defeat at Spurs last time out, scoring Palace’s only goal of the game with a free kick in the second half.
The Greenwich-born attacker was withdrawn after 66 minutes having only just returned from a hamstring injury.
He added: “[Eze] did every session from the first until the last minute – he is fit,” Glasner confirmed in his pre-match press conference. “He looks very good, and of course his goal gives him more confidence.
“He was able to play 65 minutes without any problems, so he will play more minutes in this game if everything is fine with him.
“It is not just him: Will Hughes is also in his second week with us in training, and that helps him and all the other players.”
