Jackson Hastings breaks silence on reported Salford Red Devils move

Jackson Hastings breaks silence on reported Salford Red Devils move - Serious About Rugby League

With Brodie Croft headed for Leeds Rhinos, Salford Red Devils have moved for former Wigan Warriors star and iconic figure at their own club Jackson Hastings ahead of the 2024 season according to the Mole of Wide World of Sports.

The club are willing to use the reported fees received for both Croft and Ackers to offer to Newcastle Knights in what would be a truly shocking move from the Red Devils but also one that shows their fans that they are still ambitious despite the departures of Croft, Ackers, Dupree and likely Oliver Partington.

It was seemingly legitimised, “He has just bought a house in Newcastle and is happy there,” a source close to Hastings told Wide World of Sports.

“There has been no approach yet but we have been hearing whispers.

“Jackson still has a lot of friends in Salford and fond memories of the club.

Hastings won the Man of Steel with the club in 2019 as he guided them to the Grand Final for the first time.

The halfback joined mid way through 2018 and guided the club to survival.

“So he will wait and see how it plays out if anything comes of it.”

However, Hastings has shut down this rumour himself. He said on social media: “The reports on my future this morning are completely false and fabricated as per regarding me. I’m extremely happy, settled & loving my footy at Newcastle and can’t wait to build on what we started this season. Don’t believe everything you read.”
