Boss issues Tyler Roberts update upon absence for Leeds United visit and triple Birmingham City boost

Birmingham City completed the signing of Roberts on four-year contract from Leeds on Wednesday in what was Blues’ first addition of the summer.

The 24-year-old joined the Club after appearing over 100 times for Leeds united, with 51 of those coming in the Premier League over the last three seasons.

Speaking to BluesTV after completing the move, the Welsh international shared that he was really looking forward to being a part of Blues’ next chapter.

“I’m excited, it was great to get the deal done before pre-season starts. The project that’s going on at the Club was something that I was really excited to be a part of. With what’s going on here and where I am in my career, I think it’s the perfect fit.

“I’ve spoken to the Gaffer (John Eustace) and it’s all been really positive, I’m hoping I can bring my experiences and the quality I have into the team.”

Roberts, a versatile forward capable of taking up multiple attacking positions, also spoke on both his and the team’s goals for the upcoming season, as well as his familiarity with Blues.

“Climbing the table is definitely the biggest goal, with what’s going on at the club I don’t see why we can’t climb and even target playoffs. Personally, I’m targeting double digits for goals, so that I can help the team as much as I can.

“I’ve played at St. Andrews a few times before in my career so I know it’s a great stadium with really passionate fans, so I’m hoping we can create some special memories and share some great moments together.”
