Carrick acknowledged that the two “weren’t too close” to receiving the go-ahead for the game.

Carrick won’t give up even if Boro are without Riley McGree, Marcus Forss, Tommy Smith, and Darragh Lenihan in addition to those problems.

He said, “We’ll be good, we’ll be good.”

“We’ll be excited to see whatever team plays. It is included in football. Yes, there are wounds, and naturally, we want everyone to get better. However, that’s life. We’ll practise hard this next week and try for the win on Saturday.”
