Michael Carrick maintains that despite two bans and another setback to his already long list of problems, he is not worried about his team selection for Ipswich Town the following week.
Following his fifth yellow card of the season in the 3-2 loss to Leeds, Isaiah Jones will serve a suspension starting next Saturday. Anfernee Dijksteel is also out due to a second-half sending-off.
Furthermore, Paddy McNair is the most recent Boro player to sustain an injury. The defender was substituted out of the game against Leeds in the first half due to a back issue.
There were serious fears that Dael Fry and Hayden Hackney, who were once again absent from Elland Road, might not be present the following week. Carrick acknowledged that the two “weren’t too close” to receiving the go-ahead for the game.
Carrick won’t give up even if Boro are without Riley McGree, Marcus Forss, Tommy Smith, and Darragh Lenihan in addition to those problems.
He said, “We’ll be good, we’ll be good.”
“We’ll be excited to see whatever team plays. It is included in football. Yes, there are wounds, and naturally, we want everyone to get better. However, that’s life. We’ll practise hard this next week and try for the win on Saturday.”
