Queens Park Rangers have registered interest in signing an attacking player from the Premier League but face competition from Championship rivals Bristol City, according to reports.
It’s been an excellent week for Marti Cifuentes and his side as they are now just three points off safety, having won two consecutive games for the first time this season against Stoke City and Preston North End.
The victory at Deepdale was incredibly impressive versus a team pushing to get back into the promotion places. Two second-half goals from Paul Smyth and Chris Willock sealed the three points for Rangers, keeping the pressure on the clubs above them.
More importantly, QPR are beginning to score goals, having found the net six times in their last two outings, although Cifuentes’ men still boast the joint-second worst offensive record in the division with 17 goals scored in 19 matches.
According to a new report from TeamTalk, the Spanish coach is looking to further alleviate his side’s goalscoring woes this January and are keeping tabs on Fulham’s out-of-favour striker Rodrigo Muniz.
The Brazilian moved to Fulham from Flamengo in 2021 for around £6.8 million but has struggled to make an impact at Craven Cottage and was sent out on loan last season to Middlesbrough.
At Boro, the attacker made 17 appearances and scored merely two goals despite Michael Carrick’s side reaching the playoffs and has converted just one opportunity in eight games in all competitions since returning to London.
The player, said to be on £7.5k-per-week, is reportedly a top target for both QPR and Bristol City, with Fulham set to decide on his future over the coming weeks.

Both Bristol City and QPR are struggling for goals as they have two of the worst attacking records in the Championship this season so it’s unsurprising that Liam Manning and Cifuentes are looking to bolster their attacking departments.
Nevertheless, if it’s a case of affording the player, QPR may struggle to come out victorious against the Robins, who have a self-proclaimed “top-ten budget” in the league.
