The first leg of Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough double header against Coventry City is getting ready.

As things stand, it’s unclear if Danny Rohl will have other options.

Wednesday is pursuing multiple transfer targets and would love to add a number ten, a centre forward, and another option for central midfield. In an ideal scenario, they would also like to add a left and right back.

John Buckley’s loan from Blackburn Rovers has ended, and Tyreeq Bakinson has joined Charlton on a temporary basis. The Owls have so far signed young custodian James Beadle and attacker Ike Ugbo.

Wednesday, who lost out on schemer Conor Coventry, are still interested in Brentford’s Myles Peart-Harris, a midfielder, and Mika Biereth, an attacker for Arsenal, is another player they may loan out.

Since joining the Steelmen last summer, Danish under-21 international Biereth has had an outstanding time at Fir Park. He is presently on loan at Motherwell, a Premier League team.In 15 games, the 20-year-old has six goals to his name.

The striker’s parent team, Arsenal, loaned him to Well for the entire season, although they have the right to bring him back at any time.

Lee Gregory is a target for multiple lower-division clubs on the outgoing front.

Rohl’s relegation-threatened team was humiliated 4-0 at high-flying Southampton last weekend. This Saturday, they take on another Championship “form horse,” Coventry, who have won just once in the league since early November and are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions.

On Friday this week, the Sky Blues will also make an appearance at S6 for an FA Cup fourth-round match. It’s insane, but we have to prepare and do what needs to be done, Rohl remarked. We have a “Coventry week,” and both teams are aware of the consequences. That is the way things are, and I have experienced it before with Bayern Munich. At Leipzig, we faced Munich in the cup both at home and in Munich two days later.

“You must accept this; it is not an easy task. In football, the focus is on the upcoming match, followed by cup week.

“For sure, it is easier (preparation) with it being at home.”
