Louie Moulden, who was signed by Northampton Town on a season-long loan from Wolves, has expanded the team’s goalkeeping options.

The 22-year-old made two appearances for their Under-21s in EFL Trophy games in 2020–21, although he has not yet played in a first-team match for the Molineux club.

This season, he was with National League team Rochdale for the first part of it.

“He will support and challenge Lee Burge and we want that competition,” Northampton manager Jon Brady stated.

Moulden, who spent last season on loan at Solihull Moors, signs with the team just one day after forward Tony Springett of Norwich City arrives at Sixfields on loan.

“We have been watching his progress closely and we are delighted we have been able to bring him in,” said Brady.

“He has a decent amount of experience under his belt and we feel he is ideal for us to bring into the squad at this time.”

On Saturday, Northampton, now ranked ninth, will travel to Oxford United in League One action.
